Which ministry was responsible for implementing to directive?
|
Responsibility for implementing the directives is with the Ministry of the Environment, Department of Ecological Policy. Currently the execution of the provisions of the act on waste electrical and electronic equipment, based on the WEEE directive, is the responsibility of the Chief Environment Protection Inspector, who supervises and controls the execution of the obligations of entities responsible under the act on waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Under the directive, almost all member states (and some non-member states as well) have adjusted their legislation in this area. Depending on the legal system of the country, the directive is implemented in the form of an appropriate act or ordinance.

Most countries have implemented their regulations in 2005, but some did not implement the directive in the prescribed time. |
