On what basis does ElektroEko calculate the fees charged to cooperating producers?
|
The unit fee is calculated on the basis of (among other factors):
- statistics (the amount and type of equipment introduced by the producer)
- experience in other countries (e.g. what percentage of the entirety of collected equipment are refrigerators, television sets etc. - estimates for Poland are made by analogy)
- forecasts of potential amounts of WEEE on the market (e.g. the Report of the Warsaw University of Technology)
In support of equal treatment, ElektroEko charges the same rates from all customers. This also means that the rates are nonnegotiable.

What is the advantage of cooperating with a recycling organizations such as ElektroEko?
|
Introducers fulfilling their obligations under the WEEE act should enter into cooperation with a selected waste electrical and electronic recycling organization that will take over their statutory obligations or deposit a cash security and individually organize the collection, pickup, processing, reclaim, recycling and neutralization of the required amounts of WEEE.
However, as indicated in the report of the Warsaw University of Technology, prepared by Professor Andrzej Kraszewski and Robert Wawrzonek, B.Sc. – collecting WEEE in Poland faces many difficulties. Polish citizens are not used to returning waste electrical and electronic equipment to special collection points and dispose of their old equipment in inappropriate ways. This will make it difficult for the introducers to collect the required amounts of WEEE. Additionally, organizing the collection, pickup, reclaim and recycling of WEEE as costly and time-consuming.
Cooperation with a recycling organization provides access to the experience of experts who on behalf of the introducer will establish an cost effective recycling system. This will enable the introducers to focus on their core business and ensure complete fulfillment of their statutory obligations.
ElektroEko is the first and largest Polish waste electrical and electronic recycling organization. Benefiting from industrial synergies, we minimize and optimize the operating and marketing costs of establishing a WEEE management system.
Cooperation with ElektroEko also benefits the image of the introducer. On behalf of its clients ElektroEko will educate Polish consumers to increase their ecological awareness, reinforcing the supply of WEEE which will result in the fulfillment of statutory obligations as well as Poland's EU obligations.
